Getting ready to GROW in Rochester

 GROWing Before Graduation

Kasson Massimino '19, '21G is getting ready to graduate in May. Before she leaves Nazareth and Rochester, she is helping children by participating in GROW Rochester developmental screenings.

"Get Ready to GROW" bus that provides developmental
screenings for young children throughout the Finger Lakes.

Children’s Institute is at the forefront of GROW Rochester, a comprehensive initiative that integrates screenings for three-year-olds to identify needs in hearing, vision, dental health, language and speech, cognitive, and social-emotional development. Partnering with multiple departments in HHS, students have the opportunity to work with children in the city of Rochester.

"I have a great sense of belonging and deep connection to Rochester. GROW screenings provide me the opportunity to connect with families in the community and give back to the city I love.  Another draw to grow screenings is the interprofessional work.  The collaboration between healthcare professionals and what they can accomplish is invaluable."
